The artist with his commissioned painting

    "CARPDM OFF ROAD"

           Acrylic on canvas       30H X 40W

("CARPDM" is the vehicle's actual license plate.)

I've been a weekend painter off and on for more than 50 years but made a living Monday through Friday in various corporate pursuits. During the last decade, on behalf of a Dallas-based investment banking firm, I traveled weekly to cities from coast to coast, both in the United States and Canada, presenting full-day seminars for business owners on Mergers and Acquisitions. Between trips I painted.

Finding the weekly travel schedule grueling, and with the gentle encouragement of my wife, I retired to do what I love most -- I now paint full time. So these days, in a remarkable turn of events, I fly anywhere my imagination takes me and I never have to board a plane.

I paint primarily in Acrylics on canvas and have experimented with varied styles and subject matter. Landscapes, still lifes and portraits all interest me. My greatest joy is developing nuances in color, tone and texture.

My home is Austin, Texas, and while most of my work celebrates the Southwest, having spent the majority of my life in Wisconsin, some of my work continues to reflect the Midwest.

I've been accepted by jury into the Milwaukee League of Artists and am currently a member of Lakeway Painters, Austin Visual Arts Association and I sit on the board of the Austin Creative Arts Society.
